Operator (m/f/d)

To strengthen our E&S Tankers team, we are looking for a highly motivated Operator (m/f/d).

Job Description:

Would you like to be part of a dynamic team in the maritime industry? As a Chemical Tanker Operator at E&S Tankers, you will play a key role in our commercial team. Your work will be instrumental in maximising the efficiency of our transport services while ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental protection. Your tasks:

  • Daily commercial commissioning of our chemical tankers
  • Voyage and port planning, operational coordination with port agents and our captains
  • Optimisation of voyages, bunker planning and monitoring of business performance in close cooperation with Chartering, our SSHEQ department and Ship Management
  • First point of contact for our vessels, agents and other departments in case of questions and challenges 


Your profile:

  • Completed apprenticeship as a shipping clerk
  • Professional experience in the operation of chemical tankers is an advantage
  • Very good knowledge of English
  • Good MS-Office and IMOS skills
  • high commitment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

We are looking for a motivated bachelor/master student (m/f/d) in the field of economics and/or environmental sciences, environmental technology or sustainability for our finance department.

Job Description:

You will actively support the preparatory work as well as the definition of requirements for sustainability reporting, which you will then develop together with us according to ESRS standards. In your Bachelor's/Master's thesis, you will document the process from analysing data and determining material impacts and content through to to the implementation of the reporting obligation for sustainability-related key figures in the company.

Your Profile

  • You are currently completing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in the field of economics and or your profile: environmental sciences, environmental technology, sustainability or a comparable degree programme
  • You would like to write your Bachelor's/Master's thesis in collaboration with a medium-sized company from the private sector
  • You are interested in the field of sustainability and can imagine specialising in this area later on
  • You are enthusiastic about shipping and the maritime industry
  • You have a good command of written and spoken German and English
  • You are a strong communicator and can also convey abstract topics clearly
  • Ideally, you have advanced knowledge of Office 365 and cloud computing

Your tasks:

  • Validation and processing of incoming invoices in the Vendor Invoice Management software 
  • Processing of payment runs for vendors
  • Personal account maintenance in SAP
  • Processing and managing the external dunning process Management of interim accounts and clearing of accounts receivable and accounts payable


Your profile: 

  • Several years of professional experience as an Accountant (m/f/x) or a degree in economics with several years of professional experience, ideally in a shipping company
  • Routine in dealing with MS Office and SAP
  • Affinity for numbers and quick comprehension
  • Strong analytical and communication skills as well as a structured, proactive way of working 
  • A hands-on personality with a sense of quality and responsibility and enjoy working in a team

New Building Owner's Representative (m/f/x)

We are looking to fill the position of New Building Owner's representative for our chemical tanker new building project.

Job Description:

As New Building Owner's Representative (m/f/d) you will oversee the construction of the vessels in China and liaise with the site manager/team and the shipyard to ensure that the vessels are built according to the terms of the construction contracts and technical specifications. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the specifications are up to date. You will attend all class meetings together with the site manager and ensure that the budget and schedule are adhered to. In addition, you will be responsible for regular reporting on project activities to the German owners and the ship management team. In this position you will report directly to the New Building Manager. 

Profile Requirements:

  • Experience as a Naval Architect, Marine Engineer or as Senior Ship Officer with chemical tanker experience 
  • Skills: Proficient in reading and understanding ship drawings, approving/ improving drawings related to ship construction, cargo, engine and automation systems 
  • Project Management: Experience in working remotely on ship newbuilding projects in China as senior supervisor or/and site manager 
  • Location: Willingness to work in China for extended periods
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work with diverse nationalities and under pressure
